Volvo V40 Cross Country Petrol Launched @ Rs.27 Lakhs

Volvo Auto India, this week, launched the petrol variant of
its V40 Cross Country premium hatch. The T4 petrol is now available at Volvo
dealership across the country for a price for INR 27 lakhs (Ex-showroom Mumbai
without Octroi).

The petrol car is powered by T4 petrol engine – a 1.6-liter

This compact all-aluminium motor is supposedly the 1.6
EcoBoost I4
engine sourced from Ford Motors. With this new engine offering, the
V40 Cross country becomes the only Volvo car in India to have both petrol and
diesel engine options.
The Managing Director of Volvo India Mr. Tomas Ernberg
launched the new variant at a function held at Mumbai yesterday. In a
statement, he said that the company is buoyed by the acceptance of the V40
Cross country in the domestic market since its launch in 2013 and the petrol
variant now follows at a competitive price so as to increase its reach further.

The T4 petrol also features keyless entry and drive,
Intelligent Driver Information System, TFT instrument display, Side Impact and
Whiplash protection systems with a host of airbags, Park Assist with Camera,
start/stop tech and regenerative braking, Panoramic sunroof, Sensus audio
system, etc.

Volvo pioneered the luxury small car segment with V40 Cross
Country back in June 2013. With no direct alternative in the segment, the V40
Cross Country in India competes with the likes of BMW 1-Series, entry-level
Audi Q series, and Mercedes A-Class.

Volvo sells its cars through its dealers in 13 cities and
will soon add showrooms in West Delhi and Kolkata. It is also planning to
launch S60 T6 (petrol variant of the S60 premium sedan), V40 hatchback, and the
next-generation XC90 SUV later this year.
